ఎయిరిండియాను టాటా గ్రూప్నకు అప్పగించే ప్రక్రియను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం గురువారం పూర్తి చేసింది. ఎయిరిండియా-స్పెషల్ పర్పస్ వెహికిల్ AIAHL మధ్య కుదిరిన ఒప్పందాన్ని ప్రభుత్వం నోటిఫై చేసింది.

ఎయిరిండియాను టాటా గ్రూప్నకు అప్పగించే ప్రక్రియను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తి చేసింది. ఎయిరిండియా-స్పెషల్ పర్పస్ వెహికిల్ AIAHL మధ్య కుదిరిన ఒప్పందాన్ని ప్రభుత్వం నోటిఫై చేసింది. దాదాపు 69 సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత సుప్రసిద్ధ ‘‘మహారాజా’ను ఇక పూర్తిగా టాటా గ్రూప్ సొంతం చేసుకుంది. ఇకపై ఎయిరిండియా కార్యకలాపాలు పూర్తిగా టాటా గ్రూప్ ఆధ్వర్యంలోనే జరుగుతాయి.
గురువారం ఉదయం ఎయిరిండియా బోర్డు చివరి సమావేశం జరిగింది. టాటా గ్రూప్నకు ఈ సంస్థను అప్పగించేందుకు వీలుగా ఈ బోర్డు రాజీనామా చేసింది. ఎయిరిండియా అమ్మకానికి రూ.18,000 కోట్లకు టాటా గ్రూప్తో ప్రభుత్వం గత ఏడాది షేర్ పర్చేజ్ అగ్రిమెంట్పై సంతకాలు చేసింది. టాటా గ్రూప్ రూ.2,700 కోట్లు నగదు రూపంలో ప్రభుత్వానికి చెల్లించి, రూ.15,300 కోట్ల మేరకు అప్పులను స్వాధీనం చేసుకుంది.
