జమ్మూకాశ్మీర్లోని అనంత్నాగ్ జిల్లాలోని కోకెర్నాగ్ ప్రాంతంలో ఉగ్రవాదులతో జరిగిన ఎదురుకాల్పుల్లో ఆర్మీ కల్నల్తో సహా ముగ్గురు భద్రతా దళ అధికారులు మరణించినట్లు అధికారులు బుధవారం ఇక్కడ తెలిపారు.ఈ కాల్పుల్లో కల్నల్ మన్ప్రీత్ సింగ్, మేజర్ ఆశిష్, జమ్మూ కాశ్మీర్ పోలీస్ డిప్యూటీ సూపరింటెండెంట్ హుమాయున్ భట్ తీవ్రంగా గాయపడి మరణించారని వారు తెలిపారు.
తీవ్ర రక్తస్రావం కారణంగా భట్ మరణించాడని వారు తెలిపారు. ఉగ్రవాదులకు వ్యతిరేకంగా మంగళవారం సాయంత్రం గాడోల్ ప్రాంతంలో ఆపరేషన్ ప్రారంభమైనప్పటికీ రాత్రికి వాయిదా పడింది. ఈ ఉదయం, ఉగ్రవాదులు రహస్య స్థావరంలో కనిపించినట్లు సమాచారం రావడంతో వారి కోసం వేట తిరిగి ప్రారంభించినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు.ముందు నుంచి తన బృందానికి నాయకత్వం వహించిన కల్నల్ సింగ్ ఉగ్రవాదులపై దాడి చేశాడు. అయితే, ఉగ్రవాదులు అతనిపై కాల్పులు జరపడంతో తీవ్రంగా గాయపడ్డాడు.
