Police Head Constable Crushed to Death: కర్ణాటకలో కలబురగి జిల్లాలో ఇసుక మాఫియా (sand mafia) మరోసారి రెచ్చపోయింది. అక్రమ రవాణాను అడ్డుకునేందుకు ప్రయత్నించిన పోలీస్‌ను లారీతో తొక్కి చంపారు.51 ఏళ్ల మైసూర్ చౌహాన్, నేలగి పోలీస్ స్టేషన్‌లో కానిస్టేబుల్‌గా విధులు నిర్వహిస్తున్నాడు. గురువారం జేవర్గి పరిధిలోని నారాయణపుర గ్రామంలో ఇసుక అక్రమ రవాణాను అడ్డుకునేందుకు ఆ పోలీస్‌ ప్రయత్నించాడు. అయితే లారీని నిలుపని డ్రైవర్‌, పోలీస్‌ కానిస్టేబుల్‌ చౌహాన్‌ మీదుగా వాహనాన్ని నడిపాడు.

దీంతో బైక్‌తో సహా లారీ టైర్‌ కింద పడిన ఆ పోలీస్‌ చనిపోయాడు. ఈ విషయం తెలిసిన పోలీసులు ఇసుక లారీ డ్రైవర్‌ సిద్ధన్నను అరెస్ట్‌ చేశారు. దీనిపై కేసు నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు చేస్తున్నారు.కర్ణాటక మంత్రి ప్రియాంక్ ఖర్గే సీరియస్‌గా స్పందించారు. ఈ సంఘటనపై దర్యాప్తునకు ఆదేశించారు. అలాగే ఇసుక మాఫియాపై కఠిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేశారు. పోలీస్ కానిస్టేబుల్‌ చౌహాన్‌ కుటుంబానికి అండగా ఉంటామని హామీ ఇచ్చారు.
