దేశ రాజధాని ఢిల్లీలో గణతంత్ర వేడుకలు (Republic Day) అంబరాన్ని తాకాయి. కర్తవ్యపథ్‌లో రాష్ట్రపతి ద్రౌపదీ ముర్ము జాతీయ పతాకాన్ని ఆవిష్కరించిన తర్వాత రిపబ్లిక్‌ డే పరేడ్‌ (Parade) నిర్వహించారు. ఈ వేడుకలకు ఫ్రాన్స్‌ అధ్యక్షుడు ఇమాన్యుయేల్‌ మెక్రాన్‌ ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరయ్యారు. చరిత్రలో తొలిసారిగా త్రివిధ దళాలకు చెందిన నారీమణులు.. మన సైనిక శక్తిని చాటిచెప్పారు. ఎయిర్‌ఫోర్స్‌ మార్చ్‌కు స్క్వాడ్రన్‌ లీడర్లు రష్మీ ఠాకుర్‌, సుమితా యాదవ్‌, ప్రతిథి అహ్లువాలియా, ఫ్లైట్ లెఫ్టినెంట్‌ కిరిట్‌ రొహైల్‌ నేతృత్వం వహించారు.

260 మంది సీఆర్‌పీఎఫ్‌, బీఎస్‌ఎఫ్‌, ఎస్‌ఎస్‌బీ మహిళా సైనికులు ‘నారీ శక్తి’ పేరుతో విన్యాసాలు చేశారు. తొలిసారి బీఎస్‌ఎఫ్‌ మహిళా బ్రాస్‌ బ్యాండ్‌ ఈ పరేడ్‌లో పాల్గొంది. 300 ఏళ్ల బాంబే శాపర్స్‌ రెజిమెంట్‌ చరిత్రలో తొలిసారిగా అందరూ పురుషులే ఉన్న బృందానికి ఒక మహిళ నాయకత్వం వహించారు. 31 ఏళ్ల మేజర్‌ దివ్య త్యాగికి ఈ అవకాశం దక్కింది.
