తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య పట్టాలపై పరుగులు పెడుతున్న గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ రైలు 50 ఏళ్లు పూర్తి చేసుకుంది. గోదావరి ఎక్స్ ప్రెస్ సేవలు విశాఖ - హైదరాబాద్ డెక్కన్ మధ్య సుదీర్ఘంగా కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. సాయంత్రం గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ గోల్డెన్ జూబ్లీ వేడుకలు నిర్వహించారు. విశాఖ స్టేషన్లోని ప్లాట్ఫార్మ్పై రైల్వే అధికారులు, ప్రజలు కేక్ కట్ చేశారు. గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ వెళ్లే అన్ని ప్రధాన స్టేషన్లలో సంబరాలు చేసేందుకు రైల్వే ఏర్పాట్లు చేసింది.
నిన్న రాత్రి 11 గంటలకు విజయవాడ రైల్వే స్టేషన్లో గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ సంబరాలు జరిగాయి.గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ 1974 వ సంవత్సరంలో ఫిబ్రవరి ఒకటో తేదీన స్టీమ్ ఇంజన్తో మొట్టమొదటిసారి పట్టాలు ఎక్కింది. ఈ రైలు మొదటి సారి వాల్తేరు-హైదరాబాద్ మధ్య నడిచింది. దక్షిణ మధ్య రైల్వే జోన్ పరిధిలో అత్యంత ప్రతిష్టాత్మకమైన గోదావరి ఎక్స్ప్రెస్ ఈ రైలు విశాఖపట్టణం నుంచి హైదరాబాద్ల మధ్యలో నడుస్తుంది.
