భారతదేశం వెలుపల తొలి ఐఐటీ క్యాంపస్ను టాంజానియాలోని జాంజిబార్లో ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నట్లు విదేశీ వ్యవహారాల మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ (MEA) గురువారం తెలిపింది. తూర్పు ఆఫ్రికా తీరంలో టాంజానియా ద్వీపసమూహం అయిన జాంజిబార్లో ఐఐటీ మద్రాస్ క్యాంపస్ ఏర్పాటు కోసం అవగాహన ఒప్పందం (MOU) సంతకం చేయబడింది. బుధవారం విదేశాంగ మంత్రి ఎస్ జైశంకర్, జాంజిబార్ అధ్యక్షుడు హుస్సేన్ అలీ మవినీ సమక్షంలో ఈ ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది. జైషాకర్ టాంజానియా పర్యటనలో ఉన్నారు. భారతదేశం వెలుపల ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్న తొలి ఐఐటీ క్యాంపస్ జాంజిబార్లో ఉంటుందని MEA తెలిపింది. భారత విద్యా మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ, ఐఐటీ మద్రాస్ మరియు జాంజిబార్ విద్య మరియు వృత్తి శిక్షణ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ మధ్య ఒక అవగాహన ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది.
