దుండగుడి కాల్పుల్లో స్లొవేకియా ప్రధానమంత్రి రాబర్ట్ ఫికో తీవ్రంగా గాయపడ్డారు. హాండ్లోవాలో మంత్రిమండలి సమావేశంలో పాల్గొని తిరిగివస్తున్న సమయంలో ప్రధానిపై ఓ దుండగుడు కాల్పులకు పాల్పడినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. పలుమార్లు కాల్పులు జరపడంతో ప్రధానికి పొట్ట, తల భాగంలో గాయాలయ్యాయి. దీంతో వెంటనే అప్రమత్తమైన భద్రతా సిబ్బంది ఆయనను ఆసుపత్రికి తరలించారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఆసుపత్రిలో ఉన్న ఆయన పరిస్థితి విషమంగా ఉన్నట్లు సమాచారం. ఈ ఘటనను ఆ దేశ అధ్యక్షుడు జుజానా కాపుటోవా ఖండించారు. ప్రధాని ఫికో త్వరగా కోలుకోవాలని ఆకాంక్షించారు. మరోవైపు పోలీసులు కాల్పులు జరిపిన నిందితుడిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకుని విచారిస్తున్నారు.

Official statement on Slovakia PM Fico:
"He was shot multiple times and is currently in a life-threatening condition. At this moment he's being transported by helicopter to Banská Bystrica, because it would take too long to get to Bratislava ... The next few hours will decide."
