కరోనా కట్టడిలో వీరు పరిశోధించిన ఎమ్ఆర్ఎన్ఏ వ్యాక్సిన్ల అభివృద్ధిలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించిందని న్యూక్లియో సైడ్ బేస్ మాడిఫికేషన్లకు సంబంధించిన ఆవిష్కరణలకు గాను వీరికి ఈ ఏడాది వైద్య శాస్త్రంలో నోబెల్ ప్రకటించింది స్వీడెన్ స్టాక్హోంలోని నోబెల్ కమిటీ. ఈసారి నోబెల్ పురస్కారాన్ని అందుకునే గ్రహీతలకు భారత కరెన్సీ ప్రకారం రూ.7.58 కోట్లుగా ఉన్న పారితోషికాన్ని పెంచుతూ రూ.8.35 కోట్లు బహుకరించనున్నారు.
