ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తున్న యూపీలోని వారణాసి నగరం ఇటీవల కురిసిన భారీ వర్షాలకు అతలాకుతలమైంది. వరుసగా రెండు రోజులుగా కురిసిన భారీ వర్షాల ధాటికి నగరంలోని దాదాపు 22 ప్రధాన ప్రాంతాలు జలమయమయ్యాయి. రహదారులపై పెద్ద ఎత్తున వరద నీరు చేరడంతో రోడ్లు చెరువులను తలపించాయి. నిలిచిన నీటి కారణంగా ఎక్కడ గుంతలు ఉన్నాయో తెలియక వాహనదారులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు.
తాజాగా నగరంలోని ఒక ముంపు ప్రాంతంలో నీటిలో వెళ్తున్న ఆటో ఒక్కసారిగా అదుపుతప్పి బోల్తా పడింది. ఈ ప్రమాదం జరిగిన కొన్ని క్షణాల్లోనే అదే నీటి గుంతలో ఒక బైకర్ కూడా బ్యాలెన్స్ కోల్పోయి పడిపోయాడు. ఈ ఘటనల్లో ప్రయాణికులకు, డ్రైవర్లకు గాయాలయ్యాయి. ఈ ప్రమాదానికి సంబంధించిన దృశ్యాలు సోషల్ మీడియాలో విపరీతంగా వైరల్ కావడంతో నగర పాలక వ్యవస్థ తీరుపై తీవ్ర నిరసన వ్యక్తమవుతోంది.
