ఆసియా పారా క్రీడల్లో భారత్ సరికొత్త రికార్డు సృష్టించింది. ఈ ప్రతిష్టాత్మక ఈవెంట్లో తొలిసారి వంద పతకాల మైలురాయిని అందుకుంది. చైనాలోని హోంగ్జూ వేదికగా జరుగుతున్న ఆసియా పారా క్రీడల్లో అథ్లెట్ దిలీప్ మహదు గవిత్ పసిడి గెలిచి సెంచరీ మెడల్స్ లాంఛనం పూర్తి చేశాడు. ఆసియా పారా క్రీడల్లో భారత్ ఇప్పటి వరకు 29 పసిడి, 31 రజత, 51 కాంస్యాలతో 111 పతకాలు కైవసం చేసుకుంది. తద్వారా పాయింట్ల పట్టికలో ఐదో స్థానంలో కొనసాగుతోంది.చైనా అత్యధికంగా 214 స్వర్ణాలు, 167 వెండి, 140 కంచు పతకాలతో మొత్తంగా 521 మెడల్స్తో ఎవరికీ అందనంత ఎత్తులో ఉంది. చైనా తర్వాత.. 131 పతకాలతో ఇరాన్ రెండో స్థానం ఆక్రమించింది.
ఆసియా పారా క్రీడల్లో తొలిసారిగా భారత క్రీడాకారులు 100 పతకాలు గెలవడంతో ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. పారా అథ్లెట్ల కఠిన శ్రమ, అంకిత భావం కారణంగానే సరికొత్త చరిత్ర ఆవిష్కృతమైందని పేర్కొన్నారు. దేశానికి గర్వకారణంగా నిలిచారంటూ.. ఇంతకంటే ఆనందం మరొకటి ఉండదంటూ అథ్లెట్లను మోదీ అభినందించారు.
