అరేబియా సముద్రంలో ఇటీవల వాణిజ్య నౌకలపై వరుసగా డ్రోన్ దాడులు జరిగిన సంగతి విదితమే. సౌదీ అరేబియా నుంచి భారత్లోని మంగళూరు వస్తున్న క్రూడాయిల్ నౌక కెమ్ ఫ్లూటోపై పోర్బందర్ తీరానికి 400 నాటికల్ మైళ్ల దూరంలో దాడి జరిగింది. దీని తర్వాత తర్వాత ఎర్ర సముద్రంలో మరో క్రూడాయిల్ నౌకపైనా డ్రోన్ దాడి జరిగింది.
ఈ నేపధ్యంలో ఇండియన్ నేవి కట్టుదిట్టమైన భద్రతా చర్యలు ప్రారంభించింది. ఇందులో భాగంగా సముద్రంలో గస్తీ కోసం మూడు ఐఎన్ఎస్ వార్షిప్పులను రంగంలోకి దింపింది. వీటితో పాటు తీరంలో పెట్రోలింగ్ విమానాలతో నిఘా ఉంచనుంది.
‘ఇటీవల వాణిజ్య నౌకలపై పెరుగుతున్న దాడులను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని మూడు వార్షిప్పులను పశ్చిమ తీరంలో గస్తీ కోసం రంగంలోకి దింపాం. వీటికి మిసైళ్లను, డ్రోన్లను అడ్డుకుని నాశనం చేసే సామర్థ్యం ఉంది. ఇవి కాక లాంగ్ రేంజ్ పెట్రోలింగ్ విమానాలు తీరం వెంబడి నిఘా పెడతాయి. కోస్ట్గార్డ్లతో సమన్వయం చేసుకుని పరిస్థితిని నిషితంగా పరిశీలిస్తున్నాం’ అని నేవీ వెస్టర్న్ కమాండ్ అధికారి ఒకరు తెలిపారు.
కాగా క్రూడాయిల్ నౌక కెమ్ ఫ్లూటోపై పోర్బందర్ తీరానికి 400 నాటికల్ మైళ్ల దూరంలో దాడి చేసిన డ్రోన్ ఇరాన్ నుంచి వచ్చిందని అమెరికా రక్షణశాఖ ముఖ్య కార్యాలయం పెంటగాన్ ప్రటించడం సంచలనం రేపింది.
