ప్రముఖ సినీ దర్శకుడు శ్యామ్ బెనగల్ కన్నుమూశారు. గత కొంత కాలం నుంచి కిడ్నీ సమస్యలతో బాధపడుతున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే ముంబైలోని వోకార్డ్ ఆసుపత్రిలో డిసెంబర్ 23న 90 ఏళ్ల వయసులో తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు.
ప్రముఖ సినీ దర్శకుడు శ్యామ్ బెనగల్ కన్నుమూశారు. గత కొంత కాలం నుంచి కిడ్నీ సమస్యలతో బాధపడుతున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే ముంబైలోని వోకార్డ్ ఆసుపత్రిలో డిసెంబర్ 23న 90 ఏళ్ల వయసులో తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు. భారతీయ సినిమాకు విశేషమైన సేవలందించినందుకు పేరుగాంచిన బెనెగల్ తన మరణానికి చాలా రోజుల ముందు అనారోగ్యంతో బాధపడ్డాడు. నివేదికల ప్రకారం, బెనెగల్ ముంబై ఆసుపత్రిలో సాయంత్రం 6:30 గంటలకు తుది శ్వాస విడిచారు. అంకుర్ , నిశాంత్ , మంథన్ , భూమిక , జునూన్, మండి వంటి పురాణ చిత్రాలకు ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన ఈ చిత్రనిర్మాత డిసెంబర్ 14న తన 90వ పుట్టినరోజును జరుపుకున్నారు.
