తెలంగాణ చీఫ్ వైల్డ్లైఫ్ వార్డెన్ ఎలుసింగ్ మేరు తెలిపిన వివరాల ప్రకారం.. రాత్రి సమయంలో చిరుతపులి రోడ్డు దాటేందుకు ప్రయత్నించడంతో ప్రమాదం సంభవించింది. స్థానికుల సమాచారంతో సంఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకున్న అటవీ శాఖ అధికారులు, రెండేళ్ల మగ జంతువు సమీప అటవీ ప్రాంతం నుంచి వచ్చిందని నిర్ధారించారు. వన్యప్రాణులు హైవేను దాటకుండా నిరోధించేందుకు నేషనల్ హైవేస్ అథారిటీ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (ఎన్హెచ్ఏఐ) ఏర్పాటు చేసిన ఫెన్సింగ్కు మరమ్మతులు చేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని మేరు తెలిపారు. దీనిపై ఇప్పటికే అటవీశాఖ ఎన్హెచ్ఏఐకి లేఖ రాసిందని చెప్పారు. గాయపడిన చిరుతపులిని చిత్రీకరించిన బాటసారుల వీడియోలు సోషల్ మీడియలో కనిపించాయి.
