అమెరికాలోని లాస్ ఏంజిల్స్లో కార్చిచ్చు(Los Angeles Wildfires) తీవ్ర రూపం దాల్చింది. గంటల వ్యవధిలోనే వేల వేల హెక్టార్లకు మంటలు వ్యాపించాయి. దీంతో లాస్ ఏంజిల్స్లో అత్యవసర పరిస్థితిని ప్రకటించారు. కొన్ని గంటల్లోనే 10 ఎకరాల నుంచి మూడు వేల ఎకరాల వరకు మంటలు వ్యాపించినట్లు అధికారులు చెప్పారు

దాదాపు 3000 ఎకరాలు దగ్ధమయ్యాయి. దీంతో 30,000 మందిని సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలించారు. చాలామంది తమ సామగ్రి, వాహనాలను అక్కడే వదిలేసి ప్రాణాలు కాపాడుకోవడానికి తరలివెళ్లారు. దాదాపు 62,000 మంది ప్రజలు కొన్ని గంటలుగా విద్యుత్తు లేక ఇబ్బందిపడుతున్నారు. ఇక్కడ మంటలను ఆర్పడానికి విమానాలు, హెలికాప్టర్లు, బుల్డోజర్లను అధికారులు రప్పించారు. కాగా అమెరికాలో సంపన్నులకు ఆవాసాలైన మూడు నగరాల్లో లాస్ ఏంజెలెస్ ఒకటి. ఇప్పుడు ఆ సిటీలోని అత్యంత ఖరీదైన ప్రదేశం ది పాలిసాడ్స్ని (Pacific Palisades) కార్చిచ్చు చుట్టుముట్టింది.
