అమెరికాలోని ఉత్తర కరోలినా, దక్షిణ కరోలినా రాష్ట్రాల్లో కార్చిచ్చు తీవ్ర రూపం దాల్చింది. ఇప్పటికే అక్కడ వేల మందిని సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలించారు. అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది మంటలను ఆర్పేందుకు తీవ్ర స్థాయిలో యత్నిస్తున్నారు. దక్షిణ కరోలినా రాష్ట్ర అటవీ సంరక్షణ విభాగం ప్రకారం.. ఇప్పటికే 4.9 చదరపు కిలోమీటర్ల మేరకు అటవీ భూమి మంటలకు ఆహుతి అయిపోయింది.తాజా సమాచారం ప్రకారం.. ఈ కార్చిచ్చులో ఎవరు గాయపడినట్లు, ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయినట్లు సమాచారం లేదు.

సౌత్ కరోలినాలో అత్యవసర పరిస్థితి విధిస్తున్నట్లు ఆ రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్ హెన్రీ మెక్మాస్టర్ ప్రకటించారు. ఇక పరిస్థితిని అదుపు చేసేందుకు అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది యత్నిస్తునట్లు వెల్లడించారు. మొత్తం 175 ప్రదేశాల్లో మంటలు వ్యాపించాయని వెల్లడించారు.నార్త్ కరోలినాలో నాలుగు వేర్వేరు అటవీప్రాంతాల్లో రేగిన కార్చిచ్చుతో 161 హెక్టార్లు దగ్ధమయ్యాయి. వీటిల్లో ఉవారీ నేషనల్ ఫారెస్ట్లో చెలరేగిన మంటలు అతిపెద్దవని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు.
