భారత్కు చెందిన అమెరికా గణిత శాస్త్రవేత్త కల్యంపుడి రాధాకృష్ణ రావు (CR Rao) కన్నుమూశారు. ఆయన వయసు102 ఏళ్లు.
Newdelhi, Aug 23: భారత్కు చెందిన అమెరికా గణిత శాస్త్రవేత్త కల్యంపుడి రాధాకృష్ణ రావు (CR Rao) కన్నుమూశారు. ఆయన వయసు102 ఏళ్లు. ప్రపంచంలోనే ప్రఖ్యాత సంఖ్యాశాస్త్రవేత్తగా ఆయనకు గుర్తింపు ఉన్నది. స్టాటిస్ టిక్స్ (Statistics) రంగంలో నోబెల్ బహుమతిగా (Nobel Prize) కీర్తించబడే ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ప్రైజ్ ఇన్ స్టాటిస్టిక్స్ను ఆయన గెలుచుకున్నారు. ఈ ఏడాదే ఆయనకు ఆ అవార్డును ప్రదానం చేశారు. ఆధునిక గణిత శాస్త్రంలో సీఆర్ రావును ప్రావీణ్యుడిగా గుర్తిస్తారు. మల్టీవేరియేట్ విశ్లేషణ, శాంపిల్ సర్వే థియరీ, బయోమెట్రి లాంటి అంశాల్లో ఆయన పనిచేశారు.
