నివారించడానికి వీలున్న అంధత్వ సమస్యలను నిర్లక్ష్యం చేయటంవల్ల ప్రజల ఉత్పాదకత కుంటుపడుతున్నదని, దీంతో ఏటా దేశ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు 2.24 లక్షల కోట్ల నష్టం వాటిల్లుతున్నట్టు తేలింది.
Newdelhi, Oct 13: నివారించడానికి వీలున్న అంధత్వ సమస్యలను (Blindness Issues) నిర్లక్ష్యం చేయటంవల్ల ప్రజల ఉత్పాదకత కుంటుపడుతున్నదని, దీంతో ఏటా దేశ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు 2.24 లక్షల కోట్ల నష్టం వాటిల్లుతున్నట్టు తేలింది. ఈ విషయాన్ని ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఏజెన్సీ ఫర్ ది ప్రివెన్షన్ ఆఫ్ బ్లైండ్ నెస్ (ఐఏపీబీ- IAPB Report) ఓ నివేదికలో వెల్లడించింది. దేశంలో దాదాపు ఏడు కోట్లమంది కంటి సమస్యలతో బాధపడుతున్నట్టు చెప్పింది. ప్రజల్లో నివారించగల అంధత్వ సమస్యలను గుర్తించి, చికిత్స అందించడంలో ప్రభుత్వాలు కృషి చేయాలని సూచించింది.
