కాంగ్రెస్ అధినేత రాహుల్ గాంధీకి మూడేళ్లపాటు పాస్పోర్టు జారీ చేసేందుకు ఎలాంటి అభ్యంతరం లేదని ఢిల్లీ కోర్టు శుక్రవారం ప్రకటించింది. పార్లమెంటు సభ్యునిగా అనర్హత వేటు పడినందుకు తన దౌత్య పాస్పోర్ట్ను సరెండర్ చేసిన రాహుల్ గాంధీ పదేళ్లపాటు తనకు తాజా సాధారణ పాస్పోర్ట్ను జారీ చేసేందుకు ఎలాంటి అభ్యంతరం లేదని కోరుతూ పిల్ దాఖలు చేశారు. దీనిపై రౌస్ అవెన్యూ కోర్టులకు చెందిన అదనపు చీఫ్ మెట్రోపాలిటన్ మేజిస్ట్రేట్ వైభవ్ మెహతా పాక్షికంగా అనుమతించారు.
నేషనల్ హెరాల్డ్ కేసులో తనపై మాజీ ఎంపీ సుబ్రమణ్యస్వామి రూస్ అవెన్యూ కోర్టులో దాఖలు చేసిన దరఖాస్తుపై గాంధీ దరఖాస్తు చేసుకున్నారు. 2015 డిసెంబర్లో ఈ కేసులో ఆయనకు, తన తల్లి సోనియా గాంధీతో పాటు బెయిల్ మంజూరైంది. అయితే, గాంధీ తరపు న్యాయవాది ప్రకారం, కోర్టు అతనికి ప్రయాణానికి సంబంధించి ఎటువంటి షరతు విధించలేదు.దరఖాస్తును వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ, గాంధీకి 10 సంవత్సరాల పాటు పాస్పోర్ట్ జారీ చేయడానికి సరైన లేదా సమర్థవంతమైన కారణం లేదని స్వామి వాదించారు.
