Scientist S Somanath: ఇస్రో చైర్మన్గా సీనియర్ శాస్త్రవేత్త సోమనాథ్, కె శివన్ పదవీ కాలం పూర్తయిన తర్వాత పూర్తి స్థాయి బాధ్యతలు
ఇండియన్ స్పేస్ & రీసెర్చ్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ (ఇస్రో) తదుపరి చీఫ్గా సీనియర్ శాస్త్రవేత్త ఎస్ సోమనాథ్ను కేంద్రం నియమించింది. ప్రస్తుతం విక్రంసారాభాయ్ అంతరిక్ష కేంద్రం డైరెక్టర్గా వ్యవహరిస్తున్న సోమనాథ్ జీఎస్ఎల్వీ ఎంకే-III లాంచర్ అభివృద్ధిలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించాడు.
ఇండియన్ స్పేస్ & రీసెర్చ్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ (ఇస్రో) తదుపరి చీఫ్గా సీనియర్ శాస్త్రవేత్త ఎస్ సోమనాథ్ను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది. ప్రస్తుతం ఆయన విక్రంసారాభాయ్ అంతరిక్ష కేంద్రం డైరెక్టర్గా వ్యవహరిస్తున్నారు. కాగా సోమనాథ్ జీఎస్ఎల్వీ ఎంకే-III లాంచర్ అభివృద్ధిలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించాడు. కొల్లాంలో మెకానికల్ ఇంజనీరింగ్ పూర్తిచేశాడు. ప్రస్తుతం ఇస్రో చైర్మన్గా వ్యవహరిస్తున్న కె శివన్ పదవీ కాలం పూర్తయిన తర్వాత (జనవరి 12, 2022) ప్రపంచంలోని ప్రముఖ అంతరిక్ష సంస్థల్లో ఒకటైన ఇస్రోకి సోమనాథ్ అధిపతిగా వ్యవహరించనున్నారు. సోమనాథ్ నియామకంపై కేరళ సీఎం పినరయి విజయన్ ట్విట్టర్ వేదికగా అభినందనలు తెలిపారు.
