ఈ అమానుష సంఘటన భారతీయులందరికీ సిగ్గుచేటని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. శాంతిభద్రతలకు సంబంధించి.. ముఖ్యంగా మహిళల రక్షణకు సంబంధించి పటిష్ఠమైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలంటూ అన్ని రాష్ట్రాల ముఖ్యమంత్రులకు మోదీ సూచించారు. మణిపూర్ ఘటనపై తీవ్ర విచారం వ్యక్తం చేసిన మోదీ.. మహిళలపై వేధింపులను ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ సహించబోమని తేల్చిచెప్పారు. ఈ దారుణానికి పాల్పడిన వారిని వదలబోమని, చట్టప్రకారం కఠిన శిక్ష పడేలా చూస్తామని స్పష్టం చేశారు.
