కాంగ్రెస్కు గుడ్బై చెప్పిన గులాం నబీ ఆజాద్ తాజాగా సొంత పార్టీని స్థాపించారు. తన రాజకీయ పార్టీ పేరును ‘డెమోక్రటిక్ ఆజాద్ పార్టీ’గా (ghulam nabi azad new party name) గులాం నబీ ఆజాద్ ప్రకటించారు. మూడు రంగులతో కూడిన జెండాను ఆవిష్కరించారు. మూడు రంగులు నిలువుగా ఉన్న ఆ జెండాలో మొదటి రంగు నీలం. మధ్యలో తెలుపు రంగు. మూడో రంగు పసుపు. తన పార్టీ జెండాను అలా డిజైన్ చేయడానికి కారణాన్ని కూడా గులాం నబీ ఆజాద్ వివరించారు. పసుపు రంగు కొత్తదనానికి, భిన్నత్వంలో ఏకత్వానికి ప్రతీక అని.. తెలుపు శాంతికి చిహ్నమని, నీలం స్వేచ్ఛకు.. సంద్రంలోని లోతుకు.. అందనంత ఎత్తులో ఉండే ఆకాశ వర్ణానికి చిహ్నమని ఆయన చెప్పుకొచ్చారు.
