పశ్చిమాఫ్రికా దేశం గినియాలో ఓ ఫుట్బాల్ మ్యాచ్ సందర్భంగా రెండు వర్గాల మధ్య ఘర్షణలు తీవ్ర ఉద్రిక్తతకు దారితీశాయి. పరస్పరం దాడి చేసుకోవడంతో దాదాపు 100 మంది మృతి చెందినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. గినియా మిలిటరీ జుంటా నేత మమాడి దౌంబోయ గౌరవార్థం దేశంలోని రెండో అతిపెద్ద నగరం జెరెకొరె నగరంలో ఓ టోర్నమెంట్ నిర్వహించారు.

దీంతో అవతలి జట్టు అభిమానులు వీరిని అడ్డుకున్నారు. వేలాది మంది అభిమానులు వీధుల్లోకి వచ్చి పరస్పరం దాడులకు పాల్పడ్డారు. కొందరు పోలీస్స్టేషన్కు నిప్పు పెట్టారు. ఈ హింసాత్మక ఘర్షణల్లో అనేకమంది ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోగా.. మరికొందరు తీవ్రంగా గాయపడ్డారు. వీధుల్లో ఎక్కడ చూసినా చెల్లాచెదురుగా మృతదేహాలు పడి ఉన్న దృశ్యాలు సామాజిక మాధ్యమాల్లో వైరల్గా మారాయి.
