స్మార్ట్ఫోన్ల తయారీలో ఉపయోగించే 'కీలక భాగాల'పై దిగుమతి సుంకాన్ని భారత ప్రభుత్వం తగ్గించింది. కొత్త దిగుమతి సుంకం 15% నుండి 10%గా నిర్ణయించింది. ఆర్థిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ (రెవెన్యూ శాఖ) అధికారిక నోటిఫికేషన్ ప్రకారం "సెల్యులార్ మొబైల్ ఫోన్ల కోసం స్క్రూ, సిమ్, సాకెట్ లేదా మెటల్ ఇతర మెకానికల్ వస్తువులు" వంటి కీలక భాగాలపై దిగుమతి సుంకం తగ్గింపు ప్రకటించింది.
