ఈ ఏడాది జనవరి నుంచి జూన్ వరకు దేశంలోని వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో విధించిన ఇంటర్నెట్ షట్డౌన్ల కారణంగా భారత ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు 1.9 బిలియన్ డాలర్ల (దాదాపు రూ. 15,590 కోట్లు) నష్టం వాటిల్లిందని ఒక తాజా నివేదిక పేర్కొంది. ఈ ఇంటర్నెట్ షట్డౌన్లు దాదాపు 118 మిలియన్ డాలర్ల (సుమారు రూ. 968 కోట్లు) విదేశీ పెట్టుబడుల నష్టానికి కారణమయ్యాయని, 21,000 మందికి పైగా ఉద్యోగాలు కోల్పోయారని అంతర్జాతీయ లాభాపేక్షలేని ఇంటర్నెట్ సొసైటీ తన నివేదిక 'నెట్లాస్'లో పేర్కొంది. అల్లర్లను నియంత్రించడానికి భారత్ ఇంటర్నెట్ షట్డౌన్లను ఒక సాధనంగా ఉపయోగించడం వల్ల ఈ సంవత్సరం ఇప్పటివరకు భారతదేశానికి 16 శాతం షట్డౌన్ రిస్క్ ఉందని, ఇది 2023 నాటికి ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యధికంగా ఉందని తెలిపింది.
