భారత ప్రభుత్వం ఈ ఆరోపణలు నిరాధారమైనవని ఖండించింది. కెనడా ప్రధాని ఈ ప్రకటన చేసిన కొద్దిసేపటికే భారత దౌత్యాధికారిని బహిష్కరిస్తున్నట్లు ఆ దేశ విదేశాంగ మంత్రి మెలానీ జోలీ ప్రకటించారు. దీనికి బదులుగా భారత్ కూడా కెనడాకు అంతే దీటుగా స్పందించింది.
ఇటీవల తమ దేశంలో జరిగిన ఖలిస్తానీ (Khalistan) ఉగ్రవాది హత్యలో భారత్ పాత్ర ఉందంటూ కెనడా (Canada) ప్రధాని జస్టిన్ ట్రుడో (PM Justin Trudeau) ఆరోపించారు. ఉగ్రవాది హర్దీప్ సింగ్ నిజ్జర్ను (Hardeep Singh Nijjar) చంపిన కేసులో భారతీయ ఏజెంట్లకు (Indian Agents) సంబంధం ఉందని తమ ప్రభుత్వం వద్ద విశ్వసనీయ సమాచారం ఉందని చెప్పారు.
భారత ప్రభుత్వం ఈ ఆరోపణలు నిరాధారమైనవని ఖండించింది. కెనడా ప్రధాని ఈ ప్రకటన చేసిన కొద్దిసేపటికే భారత దౌత్యాధికారిని బహిష్కరిస్తున్నట్లు ఆ దేశ విదేశాంగ మంత్రి మెలానీ జోలీ ప్రకటించారు. దీనికి బదులుగా భారత్ కూడా కెనడాకు అంతే దీటుగా స్పందించింది. మన అంతర్గత వ్యవహారాల్లో కెనడా దౌత్యవేత్తల జోక్యం చేసుకోకడమే కాకుండా భారత వ్యతిరేక చర్యలకు పాల్పడిన నేరానికి భారత్లోని కెనడా దౌత్యాధికారిని వెంటనే బహిష్కరిస్తున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది భారత విదేశాంగ శాఖ. భారత్కు కెనడా హైకమిషనర్ అయిన కామెరూన్ మెక్కేను ఐదు రోజుల్లో దేశాన్ని విడిచి వెళ్లాల్సిందిగా ఆదేశిస్తూ సమన్లు జారీ చేసింది
