Sri Lanka Crisis: ముదురుతున్న ఆర్థిక సంక్షోభం, రోజుకు 10 గంటల పాటు విద్యుత్తు కోతను విధించనున్నట్లు తెలిపిన శ్రీలంక ప్రభుత్వం
థర్మల్ పవర్ను జనరేట్ చేసేందుకు కావాల్సిన ఇంధనం లేదని, అందుకే 750 మెగావాట్ల విద్యుత్తు కొరత ఉన్నట్లు అధికారులు చెప్పారు. ప్రభుత్వం త్వరలో ఆరు వేల మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల డీజిల్ను ఎల్ఐఓసీ వద్ద కొనుగోలు చేయనున్నట్లు ఇంధనశాఖ మంత్రి గామిని లోకుజే తెలిపారు.
శ్రీలంకలో ఆర్థిక సంక్షోభం రోజు రోజుకు ముదురుతోంది. దీంతో దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రతి రోజు 10 గంటల పాటు విద్యుత్తు కోతను విధించనున్నట్లు ఇవాళ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించింది. ఈ నెల ఆరంభం నుంచి శ్రీలంకలో రోజుకు ఏడు గంటల పాటు విద్యుత్తు సరఫరాను నిలిపివేస్తున్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. థర్మల్ పవర్ను జనరేట్ చేసేందుకు కావాల్సిన ఇంధనం లేదని, అందుకే 750 మెగావాట్ల విద్యుత్తు కొరత ఉన్నట్లు అధికారులు చెప్పారు. ప్రభుత్వం త్వరలో ఆరు వేల మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల డీజిల్ను ఎల్ఐఓసీ వద్ద కొనుగోలు చేయనున్నట్లు ఇంధనశాఖ మంత్రి గామిని లోకుజే తెలిపారు. విదేశీ మారకం లేకపోవడంతో.. శ్రీలంక ప్రస్తుతం మందులు కొనలేని పరిస్థితిలో ఉంది. అయితే శ్రీలంకకు తక్షణ సాయం చేయనున్నట్లు భారత విదేశాంగ మంత్రి జైశంకర్ తెలిపారు.
