శ్రీలంక ప్రధాని రణిల్ విక్రమసింఘేను తాత్కాలిక అధ్యక్షుడిగా లంక స్పీకర్ మహింద యప అబెవర్ధన బుధవారం నియమించారు. ప్రస్తుత అధ్యక్షుడు గొటబయ రాజపక్స దేశం వీడి వెళ్లడంతో ప్రజలు పెద్ద ఎత్తున ఆందోళనకు దిగిన సంగతి విదితమే. అయితే రాజపక్స ఇంతవరకూ తన పదవికి రాజీనామా చేయలేదు.
