దేశంలో 48 అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాలు, 2 పార్లమెంటరీ స్థానాలకు ఉపఎన్నికల షెడ్యూల్ను ఈసీ విడుదల చేసింది. ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికలు రెండు విడతల్లో జరుపుతున్నట్టు ప్రకటించింది. తొలివిడతలో భాగంగా నవంబర్ 13న 47 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాలు, కేరళలోని వయనాడ్ పార్లమెంటరీ స్థానానికి ఉప ఎన్నిక జరుగుతుంది.
దేశంలో 48 అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాలు, 2 పార్లమెంటరీ స్థానాలకు ఉపఎన్నికల షెడ్యూల్ను ఈసీ విడుదల చేసింది. ఈ ఉప ఎన్నికలు రెండు విడతల్లో జరుపుతున్నట్టు ప్రకటించింది. తొలివిడతలో భాగంగా నవంబర్ 13న 47 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాలు, కేరళలోని వయనాడ్ పార్లమెంటరీ స్థానానికి ఉప ఎన్నిక జరుగుతుంది. రెండో విడతలో భాగంగా నవంబర్ 20న ఉత్తరాఖండ్లోని కేదార్నాథ్ అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గం ఉపఎన్నిక, మహరాష్ట్రలోని నాందేడ్ పార్లమెంటరీ నియోజకవర్గం ఉపఎన్నిక ఉంటుంది. నవంబర్ 23న ఫలితాలు వెలువడతాయి.
రాహుల్ గాంధీ యూపీలోని రాయబరేలి నియోజకవర్గాన్ని తన వద్దే ఉంచుకుని, కేరళలోని వయనాడ్ లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాన్ని వదులుకోవడంతో వయనాడ్లో ఉపఎన్నిక అనివార్యమైంది. కాంగ్రెస్ ఎంపీ వంసతరావ్ బల్వంతరావ్ చవాన్ గత ఆగస్టులో కన్నుమూయడంతో మహారాష్ట్రలోని నాందేడ్ లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గానికి ఉపఎన్నిక జరుగుతోంది.
ఉపఎన్నికలు జరుగుతున్న రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్ నుంచి 9 స్థానాలు, రాజస్థాన్ నుంచి 7, పశ్చిమబెంగాల్ నుంచి 6, అసోం 5, బీహార్, పంజాబ్లలో చెరో నాలుగు, కర్ణాటకలో 3, కేరళ, సిక్కిం, మధ్యప్రదేశ్లలో రెండేసి స్థానాలు, మేఘాలయ, గుజరాత్, ఛత్తీస్గఢ్లలో ఒక్కో సీటు ఉన్నాయి.
