SC on Wife's Suicide: భార్య ఆత్మహత్యకు గల కారణాల్లో వేధింపులు మాత్రమే సరిపోవు, భార్యాభర్తల కేసులో సుప్రీంకోర్టు కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలు

భర్త వేధింపులతో ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న ఓ భార్య తరఫు బంధువులు వేసిన కేసు, ప్రతిగా భర్త వేసిన పిటిషన్ విచారణలో భాగంగా సుప్రీంకోర్టు (SC on Wife's Suicide) కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలు చేసింది. భార్య ఆత్మహత్యకు గల కారణాల్లో వేధింపులు మాత్రమే సరిపోవని ఆత్మహత్యకు దారితీసిన క్రియాశీల చర్య లేదా ప్రత్యక్ష చర్య కూడా అవసరమని సుప్రీం కోర్టు(Supreme Court) స్పష్టం చేసింది.వేధింపులు లేదా క్రూరత్వానికి తగిన సాక్ష్యాధారాలు లేని పక్షంలో పెళ్లయిన ఏడేళ్లలోపు భార్య ఆత్మహత్యకు ప్రేరేపించిన వ్యక్తిని దోషిగా నిర్ధారించలేమని కోర్టు స్పష్టం చేసింది.

హరియాణాకు చెందిన ఓ జంట 1992లో వివాహం చేసుకోగా 1993 నవంబర్ 19న సదరు మహిళ విషం తాగి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకుంది. భర్త వేధింపులు తాళలేకే ఆమె ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకుందని ప్రాసిక్యూషన్‌ ఆరోపించింది. 1998లో పంజాబ్, హరియాణా హైకోర్టులు భర్తను దోషిగా నిర్ధారించాయి. దీన్ని సవాల్ చేస్తూ భర్త సుప్రీంకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించాడు. కేసులో తాజా తీర్పును ఇచ్చిన ధర్మాసనం.. అప్పీలుదారుడికి 1993లో కష్టాలు మొదలై 30 సంవత్సరాలపాటు కొనసాగి 2024లో ముగుస్తున్నాయని వ్యాఖ్యానించింది.సుదీర్ఘకాలం అతను అనుభవించిన మానసిక వేధనకు సంబంధించి "నేర న్యాయ వ్యవస్థ విధించిన శిక్ష"గా కోర్టు అభిప్రాయపడింది
