Newdelhi, Nov 20: పురుగు మందుల (Pesticides) ప్రభావంతో మగవారిలో వీర్య కణాల సంఖ్య (Sperm Count) తగ్గిపోతున్నదని ఎన్విరాన్మెంటల్ హెల్త్ పర్ స్పెక్టివ్స్ జర్నల్ లో ప్రచురితమైన తాజా అధ్యయనం వెల్లడించింది. గత 50 ఏండ్లలో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఒక మిల్లీలీటర్ వీర్యంలో (Sperm) ఉండే కణాల సంఖ్య 50% తగ్గిపోయిందని పరిశోధకులు మెలిస్సా పెర్రీ వెల్లడించారు. ఇండ్లు, ఉద్యానవనాలు, ఆహారం మీద చల్లే ఆర్గానో ఫాస్ఫేట్స్, ఎన్-మిథైల్ కార్బమేట్స్ వల్ల ఈ పరిస్థితి తలెత్తిందని ఆమె తెలిపారు. ఈ పురుగు మందులు సంతానోత్పత్తిపై ప్రభావం చూపిస్తాయని డాక్టర్ అలెగ్జాండర్ పాస్టుస్ జాక్ తెలిపారు. వ్యవసాయ రంగంలో పనిచేసేవారు ఈ పురుగు మందుల ప్రభావానికి ఎక్కువగా గురవుతారని వెల్లడించారు.
