అక్కడి కాలమానం ప్రకారం సోమవారం అర్ధరాత్రి దాటాక.. వాయువ్య గన్స్, కింగ్హై ప్రావిన్స్ల్లో భూమి కంపించింది. రిక్టర్ స్కేల్పై దీని తీవ్రత 6.2గా నమోదైంది. యూఎస్ జియోలాజికల్ సర్వే మాత్రం 5.9గా పేర్కొంది. భూకంపం వల్ల వందల మంది గాయపడ్డారు. శిథిలాల కింద చిక్కుకున్నవాళ్లను బయటకు తీసే క్రమంలో మృతదేహాలు బయటపడుతున్నాయి.
