Newdelhi, Mar 22: అవయవవార్పిడి శస్త్రచికిత్సల్లో కీలక ముందడుగు పడింది. జన్యు సవరణ విధానంలో అభివృద్ధి చేసిన పంది మూత్ర పిండాన్ని (Kidney) అమెరికాలోని మసాచుసెట్స్ జనరల్ ఆసుపత్రి వైద్యులు 62 ఏళ్ల రోగికి అమర్చారు. సజీవంగా ఉన్న వ్యక్తికి ఇలాంటి కిడ్నీ అమర్చడం (Kidney Transplant Operation) ఇదే తొలిసారి. రోగి ప్రస్తుతం బాగానే కోలుకుంటున్నారని వైద్యులు అన్నారు.
