ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ నూతన డీజీపీగా 1992 ఐపీఎస్ బ్యాచ్కు చెందిన హరీశ్కుమార్ గుప్తా పదవీ బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించారు. మంగళగిరిలోని ఏపీ పోలీస్ హెడ్క్వార్టర్స్లో కొత్త డీజీపీ హరీశ్కుమార్ గుప్తా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించారు. భారత ఎన్నికల సంఘం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ కొత్త DGPగా 1992 బ్యాచ్ IPS అధికారి అయిన హరీష్ కుమార్ గుప్తాను నియమించింది.

ఏపీ డీజీపీ కేవీ రాజేంద్రనాథ్పై ఆదివారం కేంద్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం (ఈసీ) బదిలీ వేటు వేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో నూతన డీజీపీ పోస్టులో నియమించేందుకు ముగ్గురు పేర్లతో కూడిన ప్యానెల్ను రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఈసీకి పంపింది. సీనియార్టీ జాబితాలో ఉన్న ఐపీఎస్ అధికారులు ద్వారకా తిరుమలరావు (ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీ ), మాదిరెడ్డి ప్రతాప్, హరీశ్కుమార్ గుప్తా పేర్లను సిఫార్సు చేయగా హరీశ్కుమార్ గుప్తాను ఈసీ ఎంపిక చేసింది.
