వరకట్న వ్యవస్థపై బీహార్ సీఎం నితీశ్ కుమార్ సంచలన వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. పెళ్లి కోసం వరకట్నం తీసుకోవడం వ్యర్థమని మరోసారి నితీశ్ స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఇటీవల పాట్నాలో గర్ల్స్ హాస్టల్ను ప్రారంభించిన సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడారు. ఓ మహిళను పురుషుడు పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటేనే సంతానం కలుగుతుందని, ఒకవేళ ఓ మగాడు మరో మగాడిని పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటే అప్పుడు సంతానం ఏమవుతుందని ఆయన ప్రశ్నించారు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరి అభివృద్ధి కోసం అందరూ ఈ వ్యవస్థను రూపుమాపాలన్నారు. కట్న వ్యవస్థ ప్రస్తుత సమాజంలో సరైంది కాదు అని, దాన్ని అంతం చేయడం అందరి బాధ్యత అని, అప్పుడే సరైన వ్యవస్థ ఏర్పడుతుందని ఆయన అన్నారు. పెళ్లి పత్రికలపై కట్నం తీసుకోవడం లేదని రాసిన పెండ్లీలకు హాజరవుతున్నట్లు ఆయన చెప్పారు. వరకట్నం, బాల్య వివాహాలను అరికట్టే ఉద్దేశంతో 2017లో నితీశ్ కుమార్ రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్త ఉద్యమం చేపట్టారు.
