కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి మరో కీలక నేత, జాతీయ అధికార ప్రతినిధి జైవీర్ షెర్గిల్ గుడ్‌బై చెప్పారు. అన్ని పార్టీ పదవులకు ఆయన రాజీనామా చేశారు. పార్టీ అధిష్టానం మొత్తం భజనపరుల కోటరీగా మారిందని, ప్రజా ప్రయోజనాల కోసం పార్టీ పాటుపడే పరిస్థితి కనిపించలేదని రాజీనామా అనంతరం వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. ఎనిమిదేళ్లుగా కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి అంకితమై పనిచేశానని, తాను పార్టీ నుంచి తీసుకున్నదేమీలేదని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.

జాతీయ మీడియాలో హిందీ, ఇంగ్లీష్ భాషల్లో అధికార ప్రతినిధిగా పార్టీ అభిప్రాయాలను బలంగా వినిపించే నేతగా పేరున్న జైవీర్ షెర్గిల్ కాంగ్రెస్‌కు గుడ్‌బై చెప్పడం సంచలనం రేపుతోంది. సుప్రీంకోర్టు న్యాయవాదిగానూ మంచిపేరు తెచ్చుకున్న షెర్గిల్‌ పార్టీని వీడటం కాంగ్రెస్‌కు గట్టి ఎదురుదెబ్బేనని చెప్పవచ్చు. జైవీర్ షెర్గిల్ ఏ పార్టీలో చేరతారనేది ఇంకా స్పష్టం కాలేదు.
