సుప్రీం కోర్టులో స్వలింగ వివాహ పిటిషన్ విచారణకు ముందు, తెలంగాణ మర్కజీ షియా ఉలేమా కౌన్సిల్ సోమవారం (ఏప్రిల్ 10) దీనిని వ్యతిరేకించింది. "ఈ జంటల ద్వారా పెరిగే పిల్లలు స్త్రీ, పురుషులు పెరిగే పిల్లల కంటే వెనుకబడి ఉన్నారు" అని ఈ సందర్భంగా అన్నారు.
