తెలంగాణలోని నిర్మల్ జిల్లాలోని కడెం ప్రాజెక్ట్ కు భారీగా వరద చేరుతోంది. దీంతో ప్రాజెక్ట్ దిగువన ఉన్న గ్రామాలు బిక్కుబిక్కుమంటూ గడపాల్సిన పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది. ఎగువ ప్రాంతాల నుంచి ప్రాజెక్టులోకి భారీగా వరద నీరు చేరడంతో.. జలాశయం పూర్తి స్థాయి నీటి మట్టానికి (700 అడుగులు) చేరుకుంది.
తెలంగాణలోని నిర్మల్ జిల్లాలోని కడెం ప్రాజెక్ట్ కు భారీగా వరద చేరుతోంది. దీంతో ప్రాజెక్ట్ దిగువన ఉన్న గ్రామాలు బిక్కుబిక్కుమంటూ గడపాల్సిన పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది. ఎగువ ప్రాంతాల నుంచి ప్రాజెక్టులోకి భారీగా వరద నీరు చేరడంతో.. జలాశయం పూర్తి స్థాయి నీటి మట్టానికి (700 అడుగులు) చేరుకుంది. ప్రస్తుతం ఎగువ నుంచి ప్రాజెక్ట్లోకి 3.8 లక్షల క్యూసెక్కుల వరద నీరు చేరుతుండగా.. 14 వరద గేట్ల ద్వారా 2.4 లక్షల క్యూసెక్కుల నీటిని దిగువకు విడుదల చేస్తున్నారు.
అయితే, ప్రాజెక్టుకు మొత్తంగా 18 వరద గేట్లు ఉండగా.. అందులో నాలుగు గేట్లు తెరుచుకుకోకుండా ఇంకా మొరాయిస్తున్నాయి. ప్రస్తుతం 14 గేట్ల ద్వారా వాటికి తగ్గ నీటిని వదులుతున్నా.. వచ్చే వరద నీరు ఇదే పరిస్థితిలో కొనసాగితే ముప్పు తప్పదన్న భావన స్థానికుల్లో నెలకొంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే లోతట్టు ప్రాంతాల ప్రజలను సంబంధిత అధికారులు అప్రమత్తం చేశారు.
