Cyclone Gabrielle: గంటకు 150 కిలోమీట్లర వేగంతో గాలులు, న్యూజిలాండ్‌ దేశాన్ని వణికిస్తున్న గాబ్రియెల్ తుఫాను, గత 24 గంటల్లో 4 అంగుళాల వర్షం

న్యూజిలాండ్‌ దేశాన్ని గాబ్రియెల్ తుఫాను వణికిస్తున్నది. దేశంలోని ఉత్తర ప్రాంతాల్లో 250 కి.మీ వేగంతో గాలులు వీస్తున్నాయి. ఆక్లాండ్ నగరంలో గాలి వేగం ప్రస్తుతం గంటకు 110 కిలోమీటర్లుగా ఉన్నది. ఉత్తరాది ప్రాంతాల్లో దాదాపు 46 వేల ఇళ్లకు విద్యుత్‌ సరఫరా నిలిచిపోయింది. తుపాను కారణంగా భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్నాయి. ఆక్లాండ్‌లో గత 24 గంటల్లో 4 అంగుళాల వర్షం కురిసింది. పలు ప్రాంతాల్లో చెట్లు విరిగిపడి వాహనాలు ధ్వంసమయ్యాయి. వాతావరణం అనుకూలంగా లేకపోవడంతో పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో విమానాలు ఎక్కడికక్కడే నిలిచిపోయాయి.

ప్రజలను రక్షించేందుకు రెస్క్యూ ఆపరేషన్‌ కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు. రూ.60 కోట్ల సహాయక ప్యాకేజీని ప్రధాని క్రిస్ హిప్కిన్స్ ప్రకటించారు.వాతావరణం అనుకూలించకపోవడంతో దేశంలో 509 విమానాలను రద్దు చేశారు. న్యూజిలాండ్ వాతావరణ విభాగం ప్రకారం, హరికేన్ గాబ్రియేల్ ఇప్పుడే తీరం దాటింది. ఇంతలో విద్యుత్ లైన్లు, రోడ్లు, చెట్లు దెబ్బతిన్నాయి. వచ్చే 24 గంటలు కీలకమని అధికారులు పేర్కొంటున్నారు. ప్రజలు ఇళ్ల నుంచి బయటకు రావద్దని సూచించారు.
