Pakistan Floods: వరద నీటిలో పూర్తిగా మునిగిపోయిన పాకిస్తాన్, సుమారు వేయి మందికి పైగా మృతి, 10 బిలియన్ల డాలర్ల నష్టం
పాకిస్థాన్లో వరదల వల్ల సుమారు 1136 మందికి పైగా మరణించారు. తీవ్ర వరదల వల్ల 10 బిలియన్ల డాలర్ల నష్టం జరిగి ఉంటుందని ఆ దేశ మంత్రి అహసాన్ ఇక్బాల్ పేర్కొన్నారు. దేశంలోని మూడవ వంతు భాగం నీటిలో మునిగిపోయినట్లు కూడా మరో మంత్రి వెల్లడించారు.
పాకిస్థాన్లో వరదల వల్ల సుమారు 1136 మందికి పైగా మరణించారు. తీవ్ర వరదల వల్ల 10 బిలియన్ల డాలర్ల నష్టం జరిగి ఉంటుందని ఆ దేశ మంత్రి అహసాన్ ఇక్బాల్ పేర్కొన్నారు. దేశంలోని మూడవ వంతు భాగం నీటిలో మునిగిపోయినట్లు కూడా మరో మంత్రి వెల్లడించారు. అయితే వర్షాలు, వరదలతో తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న పాకిస్థాన్కు 1.1 బిలియన్ డాలర్ల బెయిలౌట్ ప్యాకేజీని ఐఎంఎఫ్ రిలీజ్ చేసింది. ఆర్థిక సంక్షోభంలో ఉన్న పాక్ను ఆదుకునేందుకు ఐఎంఎఫ్ ఆ సహాయాన్ని అందించింది.
ఈ వరదల వల్ల సుమారు 33 మంది మిలియన్ల జీవితాలు ఆగం అయ్యాయి. దేశంలోని 15 శాతం జనాభా వరదల వల్ల ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటోంది. వర్షాల వల్ల రోడ్లు, పంటలు, ఇండ్లు, బ్రిడ్జ్లు, ఇతర మౌళిక సదుపాయాలు ధ్వంసం అయ్యాయి. రానున్న రోజుల్లో దేశంలో తీవ్ర ఆహార కొరత ఏర్పడుతుందని మంత్రి ఇక్బాల్ తెలిపారు. 2010లో వచ్చిన వరదల కన్నా ఇప్పుడు పరిస్థితి దారుణంగా ఉందన్నారు. 2010లో వరదల వల్ల దేశంలో రెండు వేల మందికిపైగా మరణించారు.
